Having done some extensive research to try and find a reasonably priced professional, we instructed Nick and could not have been happier with his excellent workmanship and conscientious attitude throughout. At all times, Nick and his colleague were polite and professional, arrived on time and left us with a beautiful piece of stonework seamlessly joining old with new. Nick, You deserve a hefty pat on the back for the wall you have built for us, replacing a very old and decrepit one which was way beyond its “use by” date! Good walling is an art and not many wallers are masters of it. Your work is in a class of its own and deservedly so. The wall you have built for us is a retaining wall between two mixed borders, in the very centre of the garden. It will speak for itself for many years to come. Thank you so much.

Nick did a fantastic job of the walling at Dyrham. As a Builder specialising in Conservation work I normally like to keep all work ‘in house’, but on this job I was looking to sub-contract the stone walling to speed up the project. I hadn’t used Nick before, and was clear from the outset that it had to be done to the highest standard – he offered to take down any work I wasn’t happy with and redo it if necessary. It quickly became apparent that he worked to a very high standard, and once we’d agreed on the detailing I was able to let him get on the work confident it would be done exactly as required. He’s a perfectionist and with over 100m2 of walling so close to the house, was careful to ensure a uniform finish in terms of course heights and the colour/texture of the limestone. He was flexible and easygoing while working on such an awkward site with difficult access, and made every effort to get the job finished on time. As someone who has been running a building company for over 15 years I have used lots of contractors of varying abilities, but Nick is one of the best I’ve come across, and I can’t recommend him highly enough.

I can recommend Nick and his team without reservation. Bespoke Landscape Design worked with us for about 7 months on a big project transforming the terrace at the back of our house. We chose them not because they were the cheapest quote but because of sheer quality of the work Nick showed us from previous jobs. They were a pleasure to have on site the whole time – arriving early.. working till late and always cheerful and friendly. We hit some major challenges with the ground work but Nick took all of this in his stride – finding comprehensive and practical solutions and doing their best to keep costs under control for us. Nick is total perfectionist, working to a very high standard – stepping back regularly to check and double check everything that is done and correcting things that we had not even seen. Through this attention to detail the quality and craftsmanship shine though and has left us with the most beautiful walling, steps and paving that have honestly exceeded out expectations and which is always commented on by visitors.

Nick and his team provided a first class service and expert advice when we needed to repair our wall and patio. They sourced the stone, completed the work promptly and in a tidy manner leaving a perfectly finished wall and patio. Nick also went the extra mile to get the work finished ahead of the winter.

I would be very pleased to recommend Nick and his team for both large and small jobs. Their work is top quality, their knowledge and expertise reassuring and they are a pleasure to deal with.
