Pine Tree Cottage
This project was to rebuild a 42 meter length section of dry stone wall which had deteriorated due to ivy getting into the wall and not being properly maintained. The wall also had no capping so it was open to the elements which resulted in a lot of stone getting frost damaged there were also no proper foundations.
We stripped the wall right down and laid base stones along the whole stretch of wall. We then rebuilt the wall using stone from the original wall and bought in an extra 10 ton of new and reclaimed stone to replace the damaged stone. Due to the wall facing onto the road we had to have traffic lights set up as it would have been too dangerous to rebuild without. We then finished the wall with a concrete capping.
